After my first hand blender (a Braun) broke after 5 years, I went shopping around for hand blenders, bought a few inexpensive ones that had various flaws (see my other reviews), and I ended up with a Braun as my second hand blender. Four years later, Braun #2 broke. I bought this one because I had seen it got good reviews on Consumer Search, and I wanted to avoid buying the hand blenders that cost twice as much.

I got it at a box store, where it was a few dollars less than here. It comes in a sturdy case, and the whisk attachment is cute. It pureed a banana in milk well on its first use, but after its first hand washing, there were big drops of water inside the clear plastic portion. I hung it to dry in our dry winter climate, and two days later, the water still hadn’t evaporated. Not wanting to own a moldy hand blender, I returned it.

It’s possible that it was just this particular blender that I got that was defective. It seems like these hand blenders should either have some way to prevent water from getting inside the wand, or a large opening that allows them to dry completely. For whatever reason, this one didn’t dry completely.Works well, but retains water inside.

I’ve actually bought this product twice- the first time I dropped it and broke the motor end. This means the second time I bought it, I had double the blades and whisks for it. The whisks are still fine, but each of the blade attachments has cracked on the side and everything I blend seeps in and grows mold. It is honestly disgusting, and it happened to both of them after about three months of normal use. Furthermore, on one of the attachments, part of the plastic snapped off into a smoothie I was blending. It would be the perfect immersion blender (right amount of power, low set blade gets all the way to the bottom of whatever you’re working on), unfortunately, the plastic used in this product simply does not hold up well to normal use. I’m getting a new (different brand) one as soon as I can.It WILL crack eventually…
